Wanna know how demons can work us over? Here’s an example:
One of the devil’s demons will start by implanting a mild lie in your mind. For example, he’ll tell you that someone is lying to you when they’re being honest with you. He’ll then tell you to keep that to yourself for a while and not speak with the person to clear things up. He’ll then tell you to talk to others about this person’s supposed dishonesty, and persuade them of it. Then he’ll begin to well up unfounded hatred inside of you for this person, which will lead to more ideas about what they’re doing. Then one day, you might come at this person, spouting a bunch of false accusations at them, when they never had any idea you thought these things.
But Jesus begs to differ! We can’t know the motives of other people! This is from the pit of hell! This is from our flesh! This is of the devil! We must stop playing God in the lives of others and simply respond, with truth and love, to the things people say. After all, “Love is patient, love is kind. Love does not envy, is not boastful, is not arrogant, is not rude, is not self-seeking, is not irritable, and does not keep a record of wrongs. Love finds no joy in unrighteousness but rejoices in the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. (1 Cor. 13:4-7) This is God’s love, and God is love. (1 John 4:8)
